Noodles with
Fried Bean Paste

With Huan

A very common Noodle dish from Beijing. "It is similar to Bolognese and very convenient to prepare."

Ingredients

  • 200 g Minced Beef
  • 250 g Fresh Noodles
  • 100 g cucumber
  • 100 g Carrot
  • 3 tbsp Fried Bean Paste
  • 50 g Onions
  • 5 clove Garlic
  • 50 g Spring Onions
  • 10 g Ginger
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 20 ml Vegetable Oil

Step 1

Finely chop the onions, garlic, spring onions and ginger

Step 2

Heat up some oil in a wok and fry the chopped garlic, onion, ginger, spring onion until they turn golden

Step 3

Now add the minced beef to the pan, mix it well and fry. Once the minced meat is no longer raw, you can turn down the heat a bit.

Step 4

Add 3 tbs of Chinese bean-paste and some salt and sugar. Mix it well together with the meat and vegetables.

Step 5

Stir-fry for a couple of minutes until all ingredients are well mixed.

Step 6

Add some water and cover with the lid to cook for 10 mins. The sauce should be done.

Step 7

Meanwhile, cook some noodles for 2-3 mins in boiled water

Step 8

Place the noodles in a bowl, we recommend ramen noodle for this recipe as it retains the firm texture after being cooked, but spaghetti or capellini work perfectly well also

Step 9

Add the fried-bean-paste meat sauce, some fresh vegetable slices, sprinkle some spring onion and sesame seeds, it's pretty much the Chinese version of bolognese! add some carrots and cucumber. Sprinkle some spring onion and sesame on top and the dish is now ready !
